Advancis Activon manuka gauze bandage 10 x 10

Activon gauze bandage made of knitted viscose with 100% Manuka honey

Activon Manuka Honey contains 100% medicinal Manuka honey from New Zealand, without any additives. The Manuka honey is filtered and sterilized, making it suitable for use on wounds.

Manuka honey will debride, remove slough, eliminate odor and provide a moist wound environment.
- Antibacterial, effectively kills harmful bacteria
- Anti-inflammatory
- Eliminates odor without masking
- Osmotic effect, draws harmful tissue away from the wound bed
- Creates a moist environment, ideal for wound healing

What is this medicine used for?
Activon Honey Gel is ideal for debriding necrotic tissue, for direct use in cavities, or for refilling dressings where honey has been drained by exudate (wound fluid). The honey can be removed with normal saline solution.

Activon gauze compress can be applied to any wound but is particularly suitable for:
Ulcers, surgical wounds, burns, graft sites and infected wounds, cavities and sinuses.

Directions for use
Remove the cap, apply liberally to the wound bed to a minimum depth of 5mm, and cover with a secondary dressing. Activon Tube is for single-patient use; use within four days of opening. Use Activon Tube in combination with Algivon for debridement and slough removal. For highly exuding wounds, a superabsorbent dressing can be used to manage exudate.

Contraindications
Although honey is not absorbed into the bloodstream, we recommend monitoring glucose levels in diabetic patients. Do not use if the patient is allergic to bee venom. Some discomfort may occur when applying honey. This depends on the sensitivity of the wound and can be relieved with the appropriate level of analgesia. The initial discomfort generally subsides on its own. If discomfort persists, discontinue the use of honey and rinse the wound with saline solution.

Ingredients
Knitted viscose gauze impregnated with 100% Manuka Honey

Storage advice
Store closed at room temperature, out of reach of children. Due to the properties of honey, it can solidify in the cold and become more fluid in the heat. If the product has hardened, warm the tube between your hands just before use. If the honey gel is too runny, refrigerate it for a few minutes.

Other information
Medical device. Read the instructions for use before use.
