Vuokkoset Sanitary pads Normal wings are made from 100% organic material. The outer layer is made of organic cotton and the inner layer consists solely of pure cellulose, 100% chlorine-free (no SAP), from certified Scandinavian forests. This means that the sanitary pads are biodegradable and compostable. Even the packaging has been considered; it is made from "bio-based" material, compostable and recyclable (derived from sugar cane).

The sanitary pads carry the Nordic Swan Ecolabel and are approved by the Finnish Asthma and Allergy Federation.
