Betaine HCL or 'Betaine hydrochloride' is an acidic form of betaine, a vitamin-like substance found in grains, among other things.
Pepsin is a digestive enzyme in the stomach that breaks down proteins into polypeptides (a chain of many amino acids linked together).
These two ingredients are complementary and work synergistically.
