Vitals Vitamin B12 methyl 1000 mcg
Vitals Vitamin B12 1000 mcg consists of lozenges with the biologically active form methylcobalamin. This is one of the forms of vitamin B12 as it occurs in food and is used by the body. Many other vitamin B12 products use cyanocobalamin, a synthetic form that does not occur naturally. The advantage of a supplement in the biologically active form is that the vitamin B12 is directly available to the body and does not need to be converted.
Functions of vitamin B12
Vitamin B12, in the form of methylcobalamin, is needed for 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF, the biologically active form of folate) to convert homocysteine into methionine (vitamin B6 is also involved in this). An excessively high homocysteine level is undesirable.
Sometimes vitamin B12 is not absorbed properly in certain people. In such situations, supplementing the diet with a high-dose B12 supplement (1000-2000 mcg) can offer a solution.

Ingredients
Sweeteners (mannitol and xylitol, from plant source), firming agent (hydroxypropylcellulose), anti-caking agent (magnesium salts of fatty acids), cherry flavour, acidity regulator (citric acid), methylcobalamin.
Usage
Let 1 lozenge melt under the tongue per day or as advised. With sweeteners. Excessive use may have a laxative effect. Please note: This product does not contain folate, so the use of a multi with a generous dose of folate remains possible in combination with this B12 product.
