Vitamin B12 works closely with folate in the body. Therefore, in most cases, it is important to take these nutrients together. This product consists of 1000 mcg of vitamin B12 in the biologically active forms methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (also called dibencozide) and 500 mcg of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). These are the forms in which vitamin B12 and folate are used by the body. In other products, vitamin B12 often occurs as cyanocobalamin and folate as folic acid (pteroylmonoglutamic acid). These are synthetic forms that do not occur naturally and must be converted by the body into the biologically active forms.
