Stevia sweeteners
Stevia rebaudiana, or honeywort, is a plant native to South and Central America. The leaves of this plant have an intensely sweet flavor and have therefore been used for centuries by the indigenous peoples of these countries to sweeten drinks like maté.
Because of the downsides of excessive sugar consumption, the food industry has long been searching for alternative sugars to incorporate into food products. Synthetic sweeteners that have been on the market for some time, such as aspartame, are controversial, and many people prefer to avoid them. Rebaudioside from Stevia is a naturally sourced sugar substitute and offers advantages over regular sugars: it is low in calories, gentle on teeth, and has no effect on blood sugar levels.
Vitals sweeteners are highly pure. The Stevia extract contains 97% rebaudioside A, one of the components responsible for the sweet flavor of the leaves and the component that has the least bitter aftertaste. This last characteristic can be a problem with lower-quality Stevia products.
In addition, only unsprayed Stevia plants have been used for this product and the product is guaranteed to be free of genetically modified organisms.
