Salvestrol® Platinum is a plant extract rich in specific phytonutrients (phytoalexins) that are naturally present in relevant quantities in unsprayed fruits and vegetables. Phytoalexins are plant defense compounds that protect the plant against fungi, viruses, bacteria, UV light, and insects. The plant produces them in larger quantities only when necessary.

Few salvestrols in current diet
The discoverers of salvestrols made an interesting discovery: the salvestrol content in fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, and processed foods varies enormously. Pesticides such as fungicides have drastically reduced the salvestrol content in common fruits and vegetables. This is logical, as there is no longer a need for the plant to protect itself by producing phytoalexins. Furthermore, plant selection and breeding over the past fifty to sixty years have led to a significant decline in the cultivation of plant varieties naturally rich in bitter salvestrols (and therefore less dependent on pesticides). People also prefer to choose new varieties of fruits and vegetables that are uniform in size, color, and shape, and disregard older varieties and less attractive specimens that are richer in salvestrols. Finally, food manufacturers remove salvestrols from (refined) foods such as fruit juices and olive oil for flavor, color, and clarity. The taste becomes sweeter without the need to add sugar. Refined foods generally contain little to no salvestrols. The British research group that discovered salvestrols concluded that modern food contains 80 to 90% fewer salvestrols than it did fifty to a hundred years ago. Only unsprayed and unprocessed foods still contain salvestrols in significant quantities.

Why Salvestrols are measured in points
The Salvestrol point system was designed to indicate the amount of Salvestrols in supplements and foods. Different Salvestrols have different potencies that are not directly related to milligrams. The point system scale is based on a calculation of the amount of Salvestrols present in a historical diet from over 100 years ago. This amount is considered equal to 100 points.

Salvestrol® Platinum contains 2000 points per capsule, making it a very high dosage. For comparison, Salvestrol® Shield contains a maintenance dose of 350 Salvestrol points per capsule.

Ingredients
Phytonutrient complex consisting of kabocha pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima), grape (Vitis vinifera) and citrus bioflavonoids, rice flour (Oryza sativa), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (vegetable capsule).

Usage
Take 1 capsule twice a day with water during a meal.

NB:
The color and odor of the capsules can vary significantly between batches. This is because Salvestrol® Platinum is a natural product, and the color can vary due to harvesting differences. However, this does not adversely affect the quality of the product.
