Vitals Q10 100 mgQ10 (also known as coenzyme Q10) is a substance produced by the body itself, and found in all cells (in the mitochondria). The fat-soluble compound is also called ubiquinone, which roughly translates to "present everywhere". The body is supplied with Q10 both through its own production and through intake from food. Under certain circumstances, the body's own synthesis of Q10 may be insufficient to meet existing needs, and intake from food becomes more important. Hence, Q10 is considered a (semi-)essential nutrient. After oral intake, Q10 is largely converted into ubiquinol. This conversion process is not necessary when using a supplement with ready-made ubiquinol.
