Pycnogenol® is a patented and standardized extract from the bark (the outer part of the phloem) of the maritime pine (Pinus pinaster), a pine species that grows on the southwest coast of France. Pines have traditionally also been referred to as fir trees. The extract is rich in various types of polyphenols, including oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) and organic acids (including ferulic acid, cinnamic acid, and caffeic acid). There is already a long tradition of using Pycnogenol®. It has been used as a nutritional supplement for about 40 years. It is now one of the most researched nutrients in the world, with over 300 scientific publications.
For athletes, Pycnogenol® can also be a valuable supplement due to its antioxidant effect, in combination with proper nutrition and training.

Ingredients
Rice flour (Oryza sativa), vegetable capsule (pullulan, from fermented starch), French maritime pine bark extract (Pinus pinaster).
Usage
Take 1-2 capsules per day with a meal with water. As a precaution, women are advised not to use Pycnogenol during the first three months of pregnancy. Due to the lack of safety data, it is also better for children under 6 years of age not to take Pycnogenol. It is best not to take Pycnogenol too late in the day; some people may have difficulty falling asleep then.
