Magnesium from sea lettuce, natural and sustainable:
The magnesium in Organic Magnesium is derived entirely from a natural source, namely sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca). This edible seaweed, which resembles common lettuce, is found in all seas and grows mainly on rocks near the coast. The sea lettuce used for Organic Magnesium is harvested in specially selected areas in Europe where the water is as clean as possible. The seaweed is carefully removed from the rocks by hand, ensuring that a part of the seaweed remains attached to the rock so that it can fully regrow. This is a very sustainable harvesting method. The sea lettuce is then dried in special greenhouses using solar energy. The next step is a specially developed extraction process using seawater. After a second drying step, a sea lettuce powder is created that contains no less than 25% magnesium. This powder is processed by Vitals into an organically certified magnesium supplement.
