Quercetin (Quercefit®)
The highest-dosage ingredient in this product is quercetin. Quercetin is one of the most important and best-researched bioflavonoids. Immune Formula Pro uses quercetin branded Quercefit®, from the Italian manufacturer Indena. 500 and 1000 mg of Quercefit® are the same dosages used in several human studies. Quercefit® contains quercetin extracted from the flowers of the honey plant (Sophora japonica). The absorption and bioavailability of the quercetin in Immune Formula Pro have been significantly improved through the application of patented Phytosome® technology. The term Phytosome comes from the Greek words phuton (plant) and soma (body). During the patented production process, the natural aggregation of specific, poorly absorbable phytonutrients (such as quercetin) is limited and mixed with phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine) from sunflower lecithin. The active ingredients are not encapsulated (as in liposomes), but a homogeneous mixture of small, easily absorbable particles is created. Bioflavonoids (such as quercetin) have a natural affinity for phospholipids. The result is the formation of phytosomes, in which the bioflavonoids attach to the phospholipids. This allows them to be absorbed more effectively. Cell membranes (such as those in the small intestine) themselves consist of a phospholipid bilayer, allowing these phytosomes to easily pass through the intestinal wall and effectively absorb the active ingredients into the bloodstream. Studies have shown that the absorption and bioavailability of quercetin are improved 10-20 times by this Phytosome® technology.
Vitamin D3 (Vitamin D3V®)
Vitamin D is a vitamin that isn't found in large quantities in food, but is primarily produced in the skin under the influence of sunlight. Of course, this does depend on sufficient sunshine, which is by no means guaranteed in countries like the Netherlands or Germany. As a dietary supplement, vitamin D3 is much more effective than vitamin D2. However, a disadvantage of vitamin D3 is that it is usually made from sheep's wool fat and is therefore not suitable for vegans. Therefore, Immune Formula Pro uses a newer form of vitamin D3 from algae (Vitamin D3V®). This makes Immune Formula Pro also suitable for vegans. Immune Formula Pro provides a generous dose of vitamin D to supplement diet and natural production through sunlight.
Vitamin K2 (K2VITAL™ DELTA)
The most well-known function of vitamin K in the body is its contribution to normal blood clotting. Vitamin K activates certain vitamin K-dependent blood clotting factors that ensure optimal blood clotting—meaning neither too fast nor too slow. Vitamin K interacts with vitamin D in several ways. Therefore, it is even better to take these nutrients together. There are two types of vitamin K, with vitamin K2 having a broader effect than vitamin K1. Vitamin K2, or menaquinone (abbreviated MK), comes in various forms. According to current scientific research, menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is the most effective form. MK-7 is highly absorbed and remains in the body for a very long time to be effective, thanks to its long half-life. In Immune Formula Pro, dosages of this vitamin have been chosen that have proven effective in human studies. The quality of the vitamin K2 used is also a consideration, as vitamin K2 is known to be highly unstable. When combined with minerals or certain excipients, the vitamin K2 content in a dietary supplement can quickly decrease. This is, of course, highly undesirable, as you want to preserve a product for its entire shelf life. The Norwegian manufacturer Balchem has developed a vitamin K2 raw material that is highly protected against external influences. Through a patented micro-encapsulation process, the K2 is completely encapsulated, guaranteeing stability even in products containing aggressive mineral compounds. Vitals selected K2VITAL™ DELTA as the best vitamin K2 raw material after extensive stability testing with various K2 raw materials in various formulations.
Selenium
Selenium (also known as selenium) is an essential trace element. It occurs in animal and plant products in both organic forms (selenomethionine or selenocysteine) and inorganic forms (selenite or selenate). The organic forms are absorbed by the body one and a half to two times better than the inorganic forms. Low selenium intake is common in Europe, especially among vegetarians. This is mainly because European soil is poor in selenium, and crops therefore contain less selenium.
Zinc (TRAACS®)
Immune Formula Pro contains zinc in the form of zinc bisglycinate. Each zinc particle is strongly bound (chelated) to two (bis) molecules of the amino acid glycine. The general term for such a compound is amino acid chelate or amino acid chelated mineral. The word "chelate" comes from the Greek and means "claw." This bonding form was chosen because it offers exceptionally good bioavailability. Vitals uses only genuine amino acid chelates from Albion Minerals, recognizable by the trademark TRAACS®, which stands for The Real Amino Acid Chelate System. This guarantees that it is truly a chelate and not simply a mixture of a mineral and an amino acid, which some manufacturers mistakenly claim is also an amino acid chelate.

Ingredients
Quercetin (extract from honey tree, Sophora japonica, flower), vegetable capsule (pullulan, from fermented cassava starch), vitamins (C, A, D3, K2), bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose [cellulose gel]), minerals (zinc, selenium), anti-caking agents (calcium salts of fatty acids, silicon dioxide).
Usage
Take 1 capsule daily with water during a (fat-containing) meal. For increased needs, take 1 capsule twice daily for a limited time.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
NB:
This dietary supplement is not suitable for children under 10 years of age. The vitamin K in this product makes it unsuitable for use with coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol and phenprocoumon). If taking 2 capsules per day, intake should be limited to a few weeks/months.
