Vitals Immune Formula ProQuercetin (Quercefit®)
The highest dosed ingredient in this product is quercetin. Quercetin is one of the most important and well-researched bioflavonoids. Immune Formula Pro uses quercetin under the brand name Quercefit®, from the Italian producer Indena. 500 and 1000 mg of Quercefit® are the same dosages that have been used in multiple human studies. Quercefit® contains quercetin extracted from the flowers of the Japanese pagoda tree (Sophora japonica). The absorption and bioavailability of the quercetin in Immune Formula Pro have been significantly improved by applying the patented Phytosome® technology. The term Phytosome (or phytosome) comes from the Greek words phuton (plant) and soma (body). During the patented production process, the natural clumping of specific, poorly absorbed phytonutrients (such as quercetin) is limited, and these are mixed with phospholipids (phosphatidylcholine) from sunflower lecithin. The active substances are not encapsulated (as in liposomes), but a homogeneous mixture of small, well-absorbable particles is formed. Bioflavonoids (such as quercetin) have a natural affinity for phospholipids. The result is the formation of phytosomes, where the bioflavonoids attach to the phospholipids. This way, they are extra well absorbed. Cell membranes (such as those of cells in the small intestine) themselves consist of a phospholipid bilayer, allowing these phytosomes to pass through the intestinal wall excellently and enabling the active ingredients to be well absorbed into the circulation. Studies have shown that the absorption and bioavailability of quercetin are 10-20 times better due to this Phytosome® technology.
Vitamin D3 (Vitamin D3V®)
Vitamin D is a vitamin not found in large quantities in food, but primarily produced in the skin under the influence of sunlight. Of course, this depends on sufficient sunshine, which is by no means a certainty in countries like the Netherlands or Germany. As a dietary supplement, vitamin D3 is strongly preferred over vitamin D2 in terms of effectiveness. A disadvantage of vitamin D3, however, is that it is usually made from sheep's wool fat and is therefore not suitable for vegans. Immune Formula Pro therefore uses a newer form of vitamin D3 from algae (Vitamin D3V®). This makes Immune Formula Pro suitable for vegans. Immune Formula Pro offers a generous dose of vitamin D to supplement diet and the body's own production through sunlight.
Vitamin K2 (K2VITAL™ DELTA)
The most well-known function of vitamin K in the body is its contribution to normal blood clotting. Vitamin K activates certain vitamin K-dependent blood clotting factors that ensure optimal blood clotting, meaning not too fast and not too slow. Vitamin K works with vitamin D in several ways. It is therefore even better to take these nutrients combined. There are two types of vitamin K, with vitamin K2 having a broader effect than vitamin K1. Vitamin K2, or menaquinone (abbreviated MK), occurs in various forms. According to the current scientific state of affairs, menaquinone-7 (MK-7) is the most effective form. MK-7 is excellently absorbed and remains in the body for a very long time to be effective, thanks to its long half-life. In Immune Formula Pro, dosages of this vitamin have been chosen that have proven effective in human studies. The quality of the vitamin K2 used is also a point of attention. Vitamin K2 is known to be very unstable. In combination with minerals or certain excipients, the vitamin K2 content in a dietary supplement can rapidly decrease. This is, of course, highly undesirable, as you want to be able to store a product for its entire shelf life. The Norwegian producer Balchem has developed a vitamin K2 raw material that is very well protected against external influences. Through a patented micro-encapsulation process, the K2 is completely encapsulated, ensuring stability even in products with aggressive mineral compounds. Selenium
Selenium is an essential trace element. In animal and plant products, it occurs in both organic form (selenomethionine or selenocysteine) and inorganic form (selenite or selenate). The organic forms are absorbed one and a half to two times better by the body than the inorganic forms. Low selenium intake is common in Europe, including among vegetarians. This is mainly because European soil is poor in selenium, and crops therefore contain less selenium.
Zinc (TRAACS®)
Immune Formula Pro contains zinc in the form of zinc bisglycinate. In this form, each zinc particle is strongly bound (chelated) to two (bis) molecules of the amino acid glycine. The general term for such a compound is amino acid chelate or amino acid chelated mineral. The word 'chelate' comes from Greek and means 'claw'. This form of compound has been chosen because its bioavailability is exceptionally good. And Vitals exclusively uses real amino acid chelates from Albion Minerals, recognizable by the trademark TRAACS®, which stands for The Real Amino Acid Chelate System. This guarantees that it is indeed a chelate and not merely a mixture of a mineral with an amino acid, which some producers incorrectly claim is also an amino acid chelate.

Usage
Take 1 capsule daily with a (fat-containing) meal and water. For increased need, temporarily take 1 capsule twice a day. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Please note: This dietary supplement is not suitable for children up to 10 years old. The vitamin K in this product makes it unsuitable for concomitant use with coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol and phenprocoumon).
