Elke Dag 50+ (formerly Elke Dag Senior) is specially formulated for men and women over 50. The body's nutritional needs change with age. For example, iron and copper requirements decrease. Elke Dag 50+ therefore does not contain iron or copper. What men and women do need at this age is extra vitamin B12 and sufficient folic acid (folate), among other things, to support mental functions such as memory. Higher doses of vitamin K2 and D3 are also important for this age group.

What's new?
Based on the recent food consumption survey, the average intake of people over 50 in the Netherlands was examined, and their needs were reassessed based on current scientific insights. This has led to a reduction in B vitamins, which still achieves generous doses. The increased need for folate and vitamin B12 is also still amply met. In addition, the choline content has been increased from 25 mg to 85 mg. Choline is important for normal lipid metabolism, homocysteine ​​metabolism, and normal liver function. The vitamin C content has doubled from 100 mg to 200 mg. Vitamin D3 has been increased from 25 mcg to 35 mcg and is now from a plant source. 45 mcg of vitamin K1 has been added, and vitamin K2 has been increased from 40 to 90 mcg. Furthermore, a proven stable form of vitamin K2 (K2VITAL™ DELTA) is used. The calcium has been increased from 30 mg to 150 mg, and the magnesium from 30 mg to 100 mg. These are now sourced from the sea (Aquamin®). Finally, in addition to the unique nutrients silicon, boron, Q10, alpha-lipoic acid, pterostilbene, lutein, and zeaxanthin, meso-zeaxanthin and PQQ have also been added to the multivitamin.

B vitamins in optimal forms and dosages
Elke Dag 50+ contains 150 mcg of vitamin B12 in the biologically active forms of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin (also known as dibencozide), as well as 300 mcg of active folate. This multivitamin uses the superior form of 5-methyltetrahydrofolate bound to glucosamine salt (Quatrefolic®). The binding with glucosamine salt allows the biologically active form to remain stable and ensures optimal absorption. The advantage of these active forms of B12 and folate is that they can be used directly by the body and do not need to be converted first.

High doses of vitamin D3 and K2
Vitamin K helps calcium reach its proper location: in the bones. This is important for this age group. Each Day 50+ contains 45 mcg of K1 (phytomenadione) and a generous 90 mcg of vitamin K2. Vitamin D is also important for bone health, but has a much broader range of effects and also has a beneficial effect on, among other things, resistance, muscle function, and normal cell division. Given the importance and many beneficial properties of vitamin D, one tablet therefore contains a high dose of 35 mcg of vitamin D3.

Eye condition support and special additions
Elke Dag 50+ also contains vitamin A, vitamin B2, and zinc, which help maintain sharp vision. Higher doses of lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin have also been added. Finally, the special nutrients Q10, alpha-lipoic acid, pterostilbene, and PQQ have been added.

Usage
Take 1 tablet daily with water during a meal or as advised.

Consult when using coumarin derivatives (anticoagulants such as acenocoumarol
and fenprocoumon) first consult a doctor before using a vitamin K supplement.
