Blood lipids
Blood lipids are fats that are transported in the blood to their target tissues. These consist mainly of cholesterol and triglycerides. The term 'cholesterol' comes from the Greek cholè, meaning 'bile', and stereos 'solid'. Indeed, cholesterol is one of the building blocks of bile, but it is also extremely important for the construction of cell membranes, various hormones and vitamin D. Triglycerides play a role in energy production in the cell and form a protective layer of fat around organs. For all these blood lipids, blood levels are strictly regulated so that they do not become too high or too low.
Often there is talk of "good" and "bad" cholesterol. However, this does not refer to cholesterol itself (because it only has one form), but to the transport particle (lipoprotein) in which cholesterol is transported. After all, blood lipids themselves are not soluble in a watery substance like blood. That is why a transport particle is needed to transport these substances. The outside of a lipoprotein consists of a shell of water-soluble proteins (apolipoproteins) and phospholipids. The cholesterol and triglycerides are located in the sphere. The most well-known lipoproteins are high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol. Fat metabolism is an extremely complex subject, but simply put, you could say that LDL-cholesterol ensures the transport of mainly cholesterol from the liver to the body cells and HDL-cholesterol for the reverse transport of cholesterol from the body cells back to the liver. For good health, it is important that the levels of the various blood lipids remain within normal levels. There are many ways to maintain a responsible cholesterol level. Berberine
In recent years, there has been increasing attention for berberine. This active compound occurs in various plants, including Berberis aristata, also known as Indian barberry or tree turmeric. The berberine in Cholesterol Formula Pro is isolated from the root of this plant and processed in a very pure form in the product.
Bergamot extract
The bergamot tree (Citrus bergamia Risso & Poiteau) grows mainly in Calabria, the southern Italian region at the tip of the boot. Bergamot oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit and is used, among other things, as a characteristic aroma in the world-famous Earl Grey tea. The fruit itself contains an exceptionally high content of polyphenols with a unique composition. The bergamot extract with the brand name BPF™ (Bergamot Polyphenolic Fraction®), which is lovingly made by the southern Italian company H&AD, consists of no less than 38% polyphenols (neoeriocitrin, naringin, neohesperidin, melitidin, brutieridin). H&AD is considered one of the experts in natural products based on the bergamot fruit. BPF™ is produced by them according to a specially developed and patented extraction method. Bergamot extract is a great addition to the other polyphenols (berberine and hydroxytyrosol) in Cholesterol Formula Pro.
Hydroxytyrosol (Olive extract)
Hydroxytyrosol is one of the most important active compounds in olives. It is formed from the precursor oleuropein, which is increasingly converted into hydroxytyrosol as the olives ripen. The Hytolive® olive extract from producer Genosa contains a high content of hydroxytyrosol and is naturally produced from olives grown in Spain, the world's largest producer of olives and olive oil.
