Vitakruid Zinc Methionine & Copper GluconateZinc and copper in the most bioavailable forms
Zinc-Methionine is the only form of zinc that does not bind to phytate, oxalate, or tannins. Binding to any of these antinutrients significantly reduces absorption. In addition, Vitakruid has added copper in the form of gluconate to this formula. Copper gluconate is the bioavailable copper salt of D-gluconic acid and the best absorbable form of copper available.
Copper added to maintain balance
The title might already suggest it, but in addition to zinc, we have also included copper in the Zinc-Methionine & Copper formula. Balance is indeed the word on which the effectiveness of our mineral balance relies. Like on a scale, the various elements in our body are continuously weighed. The minerals we know have different relationships with each other. For example, zinc and copper have a synergistic effect. This means that the elements have both a stimulating and an inhibiting effect on each other. It is therefore important to always supplement synergistic elements together, to prevent imbalances.
Zinc is called the most important trace element
Perhaps zinc is the most important trace element for the human body. The entire body contains approximately two to three grams of zinc, most of which is found in the large muscles. Here, the essential trace element is quickly used up, so zinc reserves must also be adequately replenished. Daily consumption of zinc-rich foods is therefore the advice, and we collectively ignore this seemingly simple advice. Not willfully, agricultural developments in recent decades have simply led to our fruits and vegetables containing as much as 60% fewer vitamins and minerals than 20 years ago. In addition, vegetarians and vegans are at risk of inadequate zinc levels. Plant-based zinc is poorly absorbed by the body compared to animal-based zinc sources. Zinc supplementation is therefore recommended for a larger group than one might assume in advance.
