Vitamin D3: the sunshine vitamin
The main source of vitamin D3 is sunlight. Our body can produce this fat-soluble vitamin itself in the skin when it is exposed to the sun. In addition, vitamin D3 is found in small amounts in food, such as fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, anchovies) and in mushrooms (D2) that have been exposed to light. Supplements can be a valuable addition to ensure sufficient vitamin D3 intake.

Why is a vitamin D supplement useful for many people?
In the Netherlands, the sun is only strong enough for part of the year to provide the skin with sufficient radiation. As a result, natural production is often limited, and for many people it is necessary to get extra vitamin D3 from other sources, such as a vitamin D tablet.

Vitamin K2
There are two forms of vitamin K. Vitamin K1 is mainly found in leafy greens such as kale, endive, and spinach. Vitamin K2, on the other hand, is only found in small amounts in animal products such as meat, eggs, and dairy, and in fermented foods such as natto (a Japanese soybean preparation).

The most absorbable form of vitamin D
Vitamin D comes in two forms: ergocalciferol (D2) from plant sources and cholecalciferol (D3) from animal sources. Vitamin D3 is identical to the vitamin our body produces itself in the skin under the influence of sunlight. Therefore, this is the form that the body can best absorb and utilize.

For our Vitamin D3 & K2 tablets, vitamin D3 is extracted from the wool of live sheep in Australia and New Zealand. This origin makes the product completely vegetarian, while you benefit from the natural, easily absorbable form of vitamin D.

Vitamin K2 in the most absorbable form
Vitamin K2 comes in various forms, designated as MK-4 to MK-14. In our Vitamin D3 & K2 tablets, we exclusively use menaquinone-7 (MK-7) – the form that the body absorbs best and that remains active the longest. While vitamin K1 is only available in the body for one to two hours, MK-7 has a half-life of more than 72 hours.

Naturally manufactured
Our vitamin K2 is naturally obtained through fermentation with Bacillus subtilis natto. Thanks to careful standardization (10,000 ppm), each tablet delivers exactly 40 µg of vitamin K2 – a pure and reliable dosage.

Tablets are practical to use and suitable for vegetarian consumers. For example, our tablets contain 25 mcg D3 and 40 mcg K2.
