GABA in food
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a neurotransmitter found in various foods such as leafy greens, soy and fava beans, nuts, seeds, tomatoes, and eggs.
In addition, the body can produce GABA itself from the amino acid glutamine. Glutamine is mainly found in protein-rich foods such as meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, soy, and other legumes, but also in spinach, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, and beets.
Cofactors required for conversion
Proteins in your diet are converted into glutamine, among other things, which is then used to form GABA. This conversion requires cofactors such as vitamins and minerals. Vitamin B1 is one of the most important cofactors for this conversion. That's why our formula contains 1.5 mg of vitamin B1.
