Vitakruid Creatine Monohydrate micronized to 200 meshCreatine in food
Creatine is a substance naturally present in our bodies. We can obtain some of it from food, but our bodies can also produce it from the amino acids arginine, glycine, and methionine. The amounts found in food are relatively low. For comparison: 1 scoop of Creatine Monohydrate contains 3 grams of creatine. To get this much, you would have to eat 300 grams of herring or 700 grams of beef every day.
Food Grams per kilogram
Herring 6.5-10
Pork 5
Beef 4.5
Cod 3
Salmon 4.5
Tuna 4

Mechanism of action of creatine
During high-intensity exercise, our bodies use ATP as an energy source. However, the supply of ATP in our cells is limited and needs to be replenished quickly. Creatine phosphate plays a crucial role in the rapid regeneration of ATP.
Our own bodies produce creatine phosphate, although research shows that creatine supplementation can increase the average creatine phosphate stores in muscles by 20%. This increased supply provides more muscle strength during physical exertion.
Extremely fine & pure powder (100% pure)
Research shows that creatine monohydrate is the best form of creatine. In this form, each creatine molecule is bound to a water molecule, making this form more stable. In addition, this form is easily soluble and can be easily absorbed by the body.
Micronized to 200 mesh
Our creatine powder is extremely fine and pure, micronized to a particle size of 200 mesh. This means the powder is made so fine that it can pass through a special sieve, a so-called "200 mesh" sieve. This term indicates that the sieve has 200 openings per square inch. Besides ensuring that the powder is truly fine, it also ensures that the powder has a consistent particle size. This gives us a concentrated product that is easier to mix.
Neutral taste & good solubility
Because Creatine Monohydrate is a fine powder, it has a neutral taste and dissolves easily. This makes it easy to mix with water, fruit juice, or other drinks. This is convenient, because when you take Creatine Monohydrate in combination with sugar- and/or protein-containing drinks, it can improve absorption.
Better absorption with proteins and sugars
Research suggests that creatine is absorbed more efficiently when taken with sugars. This is likely due to insulin, a substance your body produces when you eat sugars and proteins. Insulin enables our cells to absorb sugars from our blood, but it also appears to improve creatine absorption.
However, a fairly large amount of sugar was needed to improve absorption. Therefore, one study investigated whether sugar could be partially replaced by proteins. They found that creatine retention in the body also increased when a portion of the sugar was replaced by proteins.
Therefore, we recommend taking creatine in combination with proteins and/or sugars. For example, take creatine with a piece of fruit and/or a protein powder product.
