Vitakruid Collagen solugel vit C and D sachet 10 gram Did you know that collagen is the most abundant protein in your body? This building block makes up a whopping 30% of your total protein mass. Your body naturally produces collagen, but its production begins to decline slowly from the age of 25. This process causes your skin's elasticity to decrease, which can lead to fine lines, wrinkles, and a less firm skin texture.
Collagen-rich food sources
Collagen occurs naturally in specific animal tissues, including skin, bone, cartilage, and tendons. Eating fish with the skin on or drinking bone broth are excellent ways to get collagen.
Besides directly consuming collagen, you can also support your body's own production. You can do this with the following nutrients:
Amino acids: the building blocks of collagen. You find them in meat, fish, poultry, and eggs, as well as in plant sources like legumes, grains, and nuts.
Vitamin C: contributes to collagen production and can be found in foods such as peppers, broccoli, citrus fruits and strawberries.
