What is protein?
Proteins serve as the building blocks of our body. They are made up of amino acids, which together form a protein. Our body can produce some of these amino acids itself. However, there are nine amino acids that we must obtain through our diet; these are the essential amino acids.
Protein-rich foods
Most people associate protein with meat, eggs, or quark, but we find protein in many more foods. Fish, nuts, grains, and legumes are also rich in protein and can therefore be an important protein source in your diet.

High-quality proteins: hydrolyzed whey isolate
We distinguish between different types of protein powders. In addition to the vegan variants, which are usually based on pea, rice, or bean proteins, we have whey protein powders. Whey is a byproduct of cheese with a naturally high protein content and is better known by its English name: whey.
There are different types of whey, such as concentrate, isolate, and hydrolyzed isolate. For the production of Clear Whey, lactose, fats, and carbohydrates are filtered out of the whey concentrate. This gives us a whey isolate with a high protein content.
Increased absorption through hydrolysis
The whey isolate is then hydrolyzed. In this process, the proteins are broken down into smaller pieces and pre-digested by the addition of enzymes. The end result is a hydrolyzed whey isolate with improved absorbability.
Better solubility
Thanks to the hydrolysis of the proteins, the solubility of Clear Whey also improves significantly. Shake your shaker a few times and you have a delicious clear protein lemonade!
Lighter to digest than regular shake
Lactose is a sugar naturally found in milk and dairy products. Whey concentrate contains lactose, but when making whey isolate, this specific sugar is largely filtered out. Clear Whey Isolate therefore contains less than 0.2% lactose, making the clear protein lemonade lighter to digest than a regular protein shake.
Complete amino acid profile
All protein sources contain all the different amino acids, but their proportions can vary considerably. Proteins with a complete amino acid profile contain amino acids in proportions that closely match our needs. Some proteins contain relatively less of certain essential amino acids, making their amino acid profile less complete.
The protein in Clear Whey Isolate has a complete amino acid profile. It contains all essential amino acids in optimal proportions.
Essential amino acids and branched chain amino acids (BCAA)
Of the 20 amino acids our body needs, we can produce some ourselves or convert them from other amino acids. However, there are nine amino acids that our body cannot produce and that we must therefore obtain from our diet. The proteins in Clear Whey Isolate consist of up to 47% of these essential amino acids!
Three important essential amino acids are the BCAAs leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Clear Whey Isolate consists of 20% of these BCAAs, in the scientifically proven ratio of 2:1:1.
Mocktail tip
As a clear protein lemonade, Clear Whey Isolate is also perfectly suitable for mixing with other drinks. For example, try this tropical mocktail!
- 300 milliliters of coconut water or pineapple juice
- 1 scoop Clear Whey (25 grams)
- 100 milliliters of sparkling water
- Lime slice
- Mix the coconut water or pineapple juice with the Clear Whey and let stand for 5 minutes. Top with sparkling water and a lime slice. Enjoy!
Tip! Pineapple juice contains sugar. Do you want the highest possible percentage of protein in your drink? Then choose coconut water.
