The stomach produces hydrochloric acid and various enzymes necessary for the digestion of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. The enzymes betaine HCL (hydrochloride) and pepsin (peptase) occur naturally in our bodies.

Superior source of 650 mg betaine per tablet
Betaine hydrochloride (HCL) is the hydrochloride salt form of the enzyme betaine. Normally, the stomach produces hydrochloric acid itself when fats or carbohydrates reach the stomach. Factors such as overconsumption of carbohydrates and fats, stress, and age decrease the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

Ultimate synergistic formula
Supplementing with betaine HCL and pepsin works as an exceptionally powerful synergistic formula. A remarkably strong team that reinforces each other's effectiveness. The body doesn't produce pepsin directly as an active enzyme. The stomach lining cells produce pepsinogen, the precursor of pepsin. The hydrochloric acid (betaine HCL) in the stomach cavity then transforms pepsinogen into the active form pepsin. Only then can pepsin do its work within our bodies. A significant amount of pepsinogen is lost during the conversion of pepsin. Therefore, supplementing with the active forms of pepsin and betaine is extremely efficient.

Addition of pepsin with high enzyme activity
When selecting a good enzyme, you shouldn't necessarily focus on the dosage, but on the enzyme activity. Vitakruid has added a whopping 160 mg of pepsin to this combination, with an exceptionally high enzyme activity of 1:3000.
