Vitakruid Beaute Collagen complex Keratin Hyaluronic acid Collagen, hyaluronic acid and keratin in food
We find various building blocks for our skin in food, but often in parts we're not used to eating. Collagen, for example, is found in fish with skin and bone broth. Bone broth also contains hyaluronic acid. Keratin is mainly found in the indigestible parts of animals, such as wool and nails, but we usually don't eat these.
Our bodies can produce collagen, hyaluronic acid, and keratin from amino acids. These amino acids are found in meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, legumes, grains, and nuts.
The Moldavian dragonhead (Dracocephalum moldavica) is a herbaceous plant with a citrusy scent, native to temperate regions of Asia such as China, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. The plant, which has beautiful purple flowers, is often used as an ornamental. The leaves are edible and add a refreshing, citrusy flavor to salads, teas, and other dishes. And, as the name suggests, the flowers of this plant resemble dragonheads.
Keratin: known from shampoos
Keratin is a protein primarily found in our skin, hair, and nails. It plays a vital role in their structure and strength. Keratin is best known as a component of hair, which is made up of 90% keratin. However, it's also found in other areas, such as the epidermis and nails.
Cynatine® HNS: the most absorbable, water-soluble form
Cynatine® HNS is a patented form of keratin that ensures effective absorption. This unique formula consists of bioavailable keratin peptides. These smaller molecules are more easily absorbed by the body and transported more efficiently to target cells. This allows them to penetrate deeper into the skin, hair, and nails.
Hyaluronic acid: hydration at the cellular level
Hyaluronic acid has the ability to retain large amounts of water. It plays a particularly important role in the skin: almost half of the hyaluronic acid in our body is found in this organ. Good hydration is also important for the appearance of our hair and nails.
Haplex®Plus for optimal absorption
The patented hyaluronic acid Haplex®Plus is produced through bacterial fermentation. It has an exceptionally low molecular weight of between 10,000 and 100,000 daltons, which ensures excellent absorption in the small intestine. It can then be efficiently transported to the body's cells.
Graph showing the decrease in hyaluronic acid in the body with age. The graph shows a downward trend, starting at a high level around age 30 and gradually decreasing to a low level around age 60.
Collagen: the basis for healthy skin
Collagen is an important protein in our body, found primarily in connective tissues such as skin, tendons, and cartilage. Although our bodies produce collagen naturally, its production gradually declines from the age of 25 onward.
Solugel® is a leader in the field of Collagen
In Beauté® Collagen Complex, we've chosen collagen from Solugel®, the leading brand in the collagen industry. This makes it exceptionally pure, easily absorbed, and clinically tested.
Hydrolyzed collagen peptides for optimal absorption
Our collagen supplement contains hydrolyzed collagen peptides. These peptides are obtained by hydrolyzing bovine gelatin. The collagen proteins are broken down into smaller pieces using natural enzymes, making them easier for our bodies to absorb. In a clinical study, the collagen was found in the blood within 15 minutes of ingestion.
Collagen type I
For our collagen, we chose type I collagen. This type makes up 90% of the collagen in our body. Moreover, most tissues use type I, compared to types II and III.
Best amino acid profile available
Collagen, like all other proteins, is made up of amino acids. Our bodies contain a total of 20 amino acids, 18 of which are found in collagen. Proline, glycine, and hydroxyproline are the major components of collagen. Beauté® Collagen Complex is therefore rich in these amino acids.
Sustainable and animal friendly
Solugel® is exceptionally sustainable. The grass-fed cattle are raised in the pastures of Argentina, on farms with animal-friendly protocols. All their raw materials are also fully traceable thanks to official certificates of origin.
