Vitakruid B-Complex Active with L-Taurine Quatrefolic®, the fourth generation of folate
Quatrefolic®, also known as fourth-generation folate, offers superior bioavailability compared to synthetic forms of folic acid. Stability is guaranteed by binding to glucosamine salts instead of calcium salts (third-generation folate). Furthermore, regular folic acid forms must first be converted into 5-MTHF before they are functional for the body. Quatrefolic® is the already converted form of 5-MTHF, meaning the body doesn't need any additional nutrients to experience the benefits of folic acid. The number one folate form worldwide!
Methyl donors
Methylation is essentially the transfer of a methyl group to proteins, amino acids, enzymes, and DNA. This biochemical process occurs in every cell of our body and is essential for energy production. Several B vitamins play a key role in methylation. In addition, so-called methyl donors play a vital role in this energy-generating process. The nutrients choline and l-taurine added to this formula fall under the umbrella of methyl donors, thus supporting the function of the other B vitamins.
High doses of B vitamins
B1 (Thiamine HCl)
Vitamin B1, in its easily absorbable form, thiamine, cannot be produced by ourselves, so we obtain this water-soluble vitamin exclusively through food or supplementation. Thiamine in hydrochloride (HCl) form means the nutrient is pure.
B2 (Riboflavin-5-phosphate)
The biologically active form of riboflavin is called riboflavin-5-phosphate. This form is immediately available to the body and doesn't require any further biochemical processes.
B3 (Niacinamide)
Niacinamide is the flush-free form of vitamin B3, the form without side effects and immediately available to the body.
B5 (Calcium pantothenate)
The easily absorbable panthotenate is an essential B vitamin in its most natural form.
Vitamin B6 (P-5-P) the safest form
Two forms are used in supplements: pyridoxine HCl and the biologically active form pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P). So far, no side effects have been reported from the use of pyridoxal-5-phosphate. Research from Maastricht University even shows that neuropathy caused by high doses of B6 is entirely attributable to pyridoxine HCl. Therefore, B-Complex Active is an extremely safe choice!
B11 (Quatrefolic: 5-MTHF glucosamine salt)
The bioavailable variant of folic acid (see box Quatrefolic for more information).
B12 (Methylcobalamin/Adenosylcobalamin)
B-complex Active contains two bioavailable forms of vitamin B12. B12 in the form of methylcobalamin has the beneficial property of making stored folate available to the body. The combination of methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin in a 50:50 ratio.
Choline, Inositol & PABA
They were once considered B vitamins. This proved to be an incorrect assumption, but despite this, the nutrients are methyl donors, meaning they play a supporting role in our energy production (see the Methylation box for more information).
- Vitamin B1 is good for: the heart, nervous system, mood, learning performance, concentration, memory and energy metabolism.
- Vitamin B2 is important for: the nervous system, mucous membranes, iron metabolism, skin, vision and energy-yielding metabolism.
- Vitamin B3 is good for: skin, mood, learning performance, concentration, memory, mucous membranes, nervous system and energy metabolism.
- Vitamin B5 contributes to, among other things: the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal resistance to stress, mental effort/pressure and energy-yielding metabolism.
- Vitamin B6 is good for: cysteine production, homocysteine metabolism, protein metabolism/glycogen metabolism, mood, learning performance, concentration, memory and the nervous system.
Vitamin B8 contributes to, among other things: normal hair growth, healthy skin, and normal carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism.
- Folate contributes to, among other things: extra energy in case of tiredness/fatigue, brain and nerve functions involved in learning ability, the normal functioning of the immune system, the production of cells and tissues, the formation of red and white blood cells and normal amino acid synthesis.
- Vitamin B12 is good for: the cell division process, tiredness and fatigue, energy metabolism, the formation of red blood cells and the nervous system.
