The scent of cinnamon leaf oil is somewhat reminiscent of clove oil. This is due to the fragrance component eugenol. For this very reason, cinnamon leaf oil is slightly less sweet than cinnamon bark oil.

The cinnamon tree is a giant, reaching a height of up to 18 meters. It's an evergreen, with light brown bark and long, aromatic leaves.

The yield of cinnamon leaf oil is just over 1.5%. This means you need about 60 kg of leaves to make 1 liter of cinnamon leaf oil.
