It won't surprise you that cedar has an earthy, rustic scent. But did you know that cedar is allergen-free? It's one of the rare essential oils (like vanilla) that doesn't contain any allergens. Therefore, it's also suitable for people with allergies.

Atlas Cedar is extracted from the heartwood of the Cedrus atlantica tree. The oil can only be extracted when the tree is 20 years old, can you imagine? Cedar oil has been used for centuries. It's widely used in men's fragrances in the perfume industry.

Van Toen cedarwood oil comes from the cedar tree in Morocco, which is protected by the Moroccan government. Only dead trees may be removed and sold. This wood is used without exception in the furniture industry, for the most expensive pieces. You can imagine the wonderful scent of cedarwood; you might recognize it from old cigar boxes. Furniture production produces sawdust, which is used for distillation. This essentially makes cedarwood oil a byproduct, keeping it reasonably affordable.

The yield of this oil is about 3%. This means that about 35 kg of wood chips are needed to make 1 liter of oil.
