Usage
Vitamin D – Check® is a self-test that can easily provide an indication of vitamin D levels using a small drop of blood. This self-test is a so-called semi-quantitative test. Unlike a qualitative test (Yes / No), this test can provide a good indication. Based on the separately provided color card, it can be determined whether the vitamin D level is moderate, insufficient, sufficient or too high.

Instructions for use
Before use, read the manual and compare the color of the test line on the test with the provided color card. This should be done carefully; the degree of discoloration (pink) indicates whether the vitamin D level in your blood is deficient, insufficient, or sufficient. The pink test line (T) can take on the following colors: - Dark (result deficient, "Deficient" on the "Color Card") - Lighter than the top line on the "Color Card" (result insufficient or moderate) - Very faint line (result sufficient ("Sufficient" on the "Color Card") - No line at T (result excess/too much) - Also see [Reading the results] in the manual. If the value is abnormal (insufficient or inadequate 25 – 75 mmol/L), you may consider vitamin D supplements. If you clearly get a deficient result (0 – 25 mmol/L), you should contact your doctor to discuss this result. He or she can then decide with you on further analysis or investigation. In exceptional cases, there may also be an excess of vitamin D. This is referred to as vitamin D toxicity (possibly caused by hypercalcemia, too high calcium levels in the blood). If you test an excess of vitamin D and you have symptoms that may indicate an excess of calcium, you should contact your doctor immediately.
