Meno-check® is a quick, easy, and over 99% reliable test to determine if you, as a woman, may have already begun the menopausal transition (menopause). The test is highly sensitive, allowing it to detect the period preceding menopause (pre-menopause).

Meno-Check® - Importance of Menopause Detection

When women enter the menopausal transition or menopause, their hormone balance changes. One of the consequences can be bone loss (osteoporosis). Furthermore, it is known that there are many other health risks associated with this period. The most common are elevated blood pressure and elevated cholesterol.

It is therefore of great importance to detect this period early. With this easy-to-perform at-home urine test, you now have a reliable way to do so.

Meno-Check® - FSH Hormone
Meno-check® detects the increase in FSH* (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone) with over 99% reliability. This hormone is highly present and measurable during the early period of menopause. The hormone can be easily measured in urine.
The test achieves this reliability as two measurements are performed. A separate urine collection cup is included for each measurement (for hygiene). The test comes with a comprehensive Dutch manual.

Menopause?
The period before menopause is often characterized by women experiencing hot flashes, night sweats, irregular menstruation, and vaginal dryness. From a medical perspective, it is important to know that you have started your (pre)menopause. Even if you are trying to conceive at an older age and it is unsuccessful, it is important to know if you might have already started menopause and are therefore not (or less) fertile.

Consequences of Menopause?
As mentioned, hormonal balance changes. The consequences often include osteoporosis, elevated blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol. These consequences can often be well prevented by making an appointment with your doctor in a timely manner. Together, you can then discuss the use of hormone preparations.

* Many changes occur in your body just before and during menopause. The most important hormone in this is FSH. Are you still on the pill? Then it's good to know that with Meno-Check® you can never get a false positive test result. However, the pill can suppress FSH, which may lead to a negative result. If you continue to experience symptoms, temporarily stop taking the pill and test yourself again.

Directions for use
Performing the test: 1. Read the manual to determine when to test 2. Collect urine in the included cup 3. Use the pipette included in the test to add 3 drops to the test 4. Wait 5 minutes and read the result 5. The test is positive if the T (Test line) is thicker or as thick or as intense as the C (Control line) 6. Repeat the test exactly one week later (separate test and urine cup included for 2 tests) 7. In case of a positive result (twice positive) and absence of menstruation: discuss the outcome with your doctor
