What is this medicine used for?
Iron-Check® is a self-test that easily determines iron (ferritin) levels in the blood. Iron-Check® is a qualitative self-test that can determine whether an iron deficiency exists.

Directions for use
Ferritin is a protein and the primary form of iron stored in cells. A level below 30 ng/ml is negative, and an iron deficiency may be present. Common symptoms of iron deficiency include pallor, fatigue, headaches, and increased heart rate or shortness of breath during exercise. Women can also develop iron deficiency during pregnancy or heavy menstrual bleeding. The test uses a small amount of blood, which can be easily (and virtually painlessly) obtained using a fingerstick. Massage your finger vigorously and prick the side of your fingertip to collect the blood. The capillary tube can then be used to collect the blood. Add the blood to the test well, and once it has been completely absorbed, add one drop of the buffer solution. The result can then be read after five minutes.

Reading and interpreting the result:

A positive result (both a line at the C and T lines) indicates a normal iron level in the blood. The value is then at or above 30 ng/ml. If only a line appears at the C (Control line) and no lines at all at the T (Test line), the iron level is below 30 ng/ml and is considered an iron deficiency. If symptoms such as those mentioned above occur, it is advisable to contact a doctor and discuss the test results. They can then determine whether further testing is necessary and discuss the next steps with you. If no line is visible at the C line, the test is invalid, and you should perform a new test. Before testing, carefully read the enclosed instructions in their entirety.
