Sun-dried wakame Wakame feels slightly smooth and yet has a vegetable-like crunch. This seaweed, commonly used in Japan, is delicious paired with sour ingredients, such as pickled cucumber or lemon. In Japan, wakame is most often used in soups and salads. It grows wild in the pristine Ise-Shima region of Japan and is harvested by hand.
