Springfield Ester-C Buffered Vitamin C Springfield Ester-C® capsules
Ester-C® is a patented formula containing a buffered (non-acidic) form of vitamin C that is gentler on the stomach than the standard, acidic form (ascorbic acid). Compared to ascorbic acid, Ester-C® is absorbed more quickly, leads to higher vitamin C levels in the blood, results in less oxalate excretion in the urine, remains present and active in the body longer, and does not cause digestive upset.
Ester-C® contains calcium ascorbate (ascorbic acid bound to calcium) and vitamin C metabolites, such as threonic acid. Vitamin C metabolites are metabolic products of vitamin C. They promote the absorption and availability of vitamin C in the body.
