L-Arginine plus L-Ornithine play a primary role in metabolism within the urea cycle. This is the biochemical pathway for metabolizing nitrogen and protein. L-arginine and L-ornithine stimulate the secretion of several important hormones, such as CRF (corticotropin-releasing factor) in the hypothalamus, growth hormone in the pituitary gland, prolactin, insulin in the pancreas, glucagon, cholecystokinin, polypeptide, somatostatins, aldosterone, and catecholamine in the adrenal glands.
L-arginine is the precursor for the synthesis of nitric oxide (NO), which is found in macrophages. Nitric oxide is thought to play a role in various physiological processes, such as vasodilation, immune response, adhesion of leukocytes and platelets, and the transmission of impulses. It also plays a role in numerous biochemical functions, including memory, attention span, and increased perfusion of the kidneys, lungs, and liver by improving blood circulation.

Use
