Xylometazoline HCl Sandoz® nose drops 1.0 mg/ml, nose drops, solution
This medication provides fast and long-lasting relief from nasal congestion. It reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa, helping to keep the nasal passages clear, making it easier for you or your child to breathe. The medication begins to work within 2 minutes and lasts up to 12 hours.

Xylometazoline HCl Sandoz nose drops 1.0 mg/ml is intended for adults and children aged 12 years and older.
This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

What is this medicine used for?
You use Xylometazoline HCl Sandoz nose drops when you or your child suffer from a stuffy nose.

Do not use in
• You are/your child is allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
• You/your child has recently had nasal surgery; in this case, consult your doctor before using Xylometazoline HCl Sandoz nose drops.
• Xylometazoline HCl Sandoz nose drops 0.5 mg/ml should not be used by children under 2 years of age.
• Xylometazoline HCl Sandoz nose drops 1.0 mg/ml should not be used by children under 12 years of age.

Be extra careful when
Warning:
Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days, and then for one month. Prolonged use worsens symptoms.
#Do not use in children under 2 years of age without consulting a doctor.
#Do not use in the elderly without consulting a doctor.
#Do not use without consulting a doctor if you are also taking medication for depression.
#Do not use if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, overactive thyroid, enlarged prostate, diabetes mellitus, or glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye) without consulting a doctor.
#Avoid repeated use during pregnancy.
#Avoid contact with eyes.

Intake during pregnancy and breastfeeding
During pregnancy: Not preferred, consult your doctor.
When breastfeeding: Not preferred, consult your doctor.

Other information
Consult your doctor:
#People who have needed or used daily nasal spray with xylometazoline, oxymetazoline or tramazoline for a long time.
Babies with a stuffy nose where physiological saline solution and removing the mucus with a suction pump are not effective enough, especially if there are problems with drinking.
#People with complaints on only one side of the nose.
#People who are short of breath or have difficulty breathing.
#People whose complaints have not diminished after two weeks.

Do not use in case of:
Narrow-angle glaucoma, high blood pressure, heart or thyroid disease, diabetes. Sensitive to adrenaline-like substances. Not to be used in conjunction with antidepressants.

Use for:
In the treatment of nasal disorders. It reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa.

Active ingredients
One milliliter of solution contains 1.0 mg xylometazoline hydrochloride

Excipients
benzalkonium chloride and disodium edetate dihydrate
(preservatives), sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, disodium hydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate,
sodium chloride and purified water.

Dosage
• should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
The recommended dosage is:
Adults and children aged 12 years and over:
Two to four drops in each nostril, three times a day. There should be 8 to 10 hours between applications.

Maximum dosage
3x per 24 hours

Directions for use
1. Blow your nose.
2. Practice using the pipette before use so that you have good control over the dose.
3. Tilt your head back – no further than is comfortable – or, if you are in bed, rest your head over the
hanging edge.
4. Administer the drops without the pipette touching your nose. Tilt your head back for a moment so that the
droplets can spread in the nose.
5. If the drops do not enter your nose, administer them again.
6. If a small amount of the drops does get into the nose, do not use any drops.

7. Repeat this procedure on the other nostril.
8. Clean the pipette and let it dry before putting it back in the bottle.
To prevent the spread of infection, the bottle should only be used by one person
