In Transylvania (formerly part of the Kingdom of Hungary and now a province of Romania), enormous rock formations contain salt mines containing the unique Halit salt crystals. The first mining took place in 1567, the Jozsef mine opened in 1762, and it wasn't until 1960 that the first speleotherapy was opened in the Doja mine. The Halit salt rock is millions of years old and contains NaCl, Mg, and Calcium, among other minerals. The unique, salty air cleanses the entire respiratory system and soothes the mucous membranes because the hygroscopic effect of the Halit salt is optimally active. It also reduces swelling in the bronchi.

Because the salt mines in Praid are visited by more than 250,000 people annually, a Hungarian professor designed a unique product at the beginning of this century to deliver these pure salt crystals directly to the patient. That product became the SaltPipe™ Classic salt inhaler and, more recently, the Mini SaltPipe.

SaltPipe™ products have been available in the Netherlands since 2009. Anyone with the aforementioned breathing problems can now access portable salt therapy anytime, anywhere, with these SaltPipes™. The inhaler resembles a small pipe and, between two porcelain filters, contains enough Halit salt and minerals for 5 years of use (the porcelain version). The Mini SaltPipe contains less Halit salt, is made of plastic, and can be used for 3-6 months. The Mini SaltPipe is intended more for trying out the product before purchasing the porcelain version, as it is much more economical to use, at 2 cents per day.

Directions for use
Use regularly for a few minutes daily (max. 15 - 25 minutes)
Place the inhaler mouthpiece in your mouth and breathe in evenly through your mouth and out only through your nose. Forced breathing is not recommended.
DO NOT breathe out through the inhaler.

Ingredients
The SaltPipe™ contains crystal salt (called Halit) from the middle section of the Miozän Mountains, divided into sodium chloride, calcium sulfate, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, iron oxide, and trace amounts of potassium, iodine, and bromine. These ingredients are sufficient for 2-3 months of use.

Warnings
Do not exhale through the mouth.
