Spirulina is a microscopic saltwater algae that belongs to cyanobacteria (blue-green algae). Blue-green spirulina contains a wide range of essential nutrients for our body. Not only does it contain more than 60% complete protein (almost three times as much as beef!), it contains many other important vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B-complex, vitamin E, carotenoids, iron, manganese, zinc, essential fatty acids, such as gamma-linolenic acid and a lot of beta-carotene.
