Activated charcoal is a type of carbon that binds to harmful substances, such as intestinal gases, and eliminates them.
Activated carbon is carbon that has been processed through a thermal process. During this process, gases and impurities are removed from the carbon. Activated carbon is therefore not the same as the charcoal you use to heat your barbecue.
Activated charcoal contributes to the reduction of excessive flatulence after eating.*
