The organic Ceylon cinnamon bark essential oil has a sweet-sour, spicy scent and is a middle note. The scent theme is warming, stimulating and inspiring.
"Ceylon" cinnamon bark comes from the cinnamon tree, a tropical evergreen tree native to Sri Lanka, South India and Madagascar. The cinnamon tree can grow up to 15 metres tall; during cultivation, it is usually pruned to keep it bushy and low and to encourage the development of further shoots. The harvested pieces of bark are wrapped in mats and fermented to develop an intense aroma. Cinnamon is used as a spice, to flavour food and as an essential oil. The shavings that result from the production of the cinnamon bark rolls and the spice production of real Ceylon cinnamon are processed into essential oil by steam distillation.
