L'Oréal Paris Préférence hair dye has been around since 1973. In the years that followed, L'Oréal Paris further developed and perfected this hair dye. The hair dye is permanent and penetrates deeply into the hair, ensuring minimal fading. Gray hair is also optimally covered during the coloring process.

A natural-looking color result
During the coloring process, Préférence hair dye takes into account the hair's natural color nuances. Consider, for example, the various shades of brown or blonde that may be present, as well as the contrast between the natural hair color and any gray hairs. Because these nuances are preserved during the dyeing process, the color result looks natural. Just like with natural hair, not every strand has exactly the same color.

Good care and a beautiful shine
Besides wanting to color your hair, it's important to take good care of it while dyeing. Préférence hair dye provides a beautiful shine. Thanks to the added Shine Oil, this shine lasts up to 8 weeks. This keeps your hair looking beautiful and healthy!

Usage
We recommend always performing a sensitivity test 48 hours before using any hair coloring product. Apply a sufficient amount of unmixed colorant to a spot the size of a penny behind the ear with a cotton swab. Repeat this and let it dry in between. Carefully reseal the container and use it again after 48 hours for the color treatment. Wait 48 hours without washing, covering, or touching the area. If a reaction such as itching, redness, or swelling of the test area is observed during the test period, do not use this colorant. Such a reaction is rare.

Step 1: Cover your shoulders with a towel and put on the gloves.

Step 2: Pour the color gel into the applicator bottle containing the developer cream.

Step 3: Close the applicator bottle and shake well until a smooth mixture is obtained.

Step 4: After mixing, immediately twist off the top of the applicator bottle to prevent the bottle from opening spontaneously.

Coloring the hair:
Step 5: First, apply the coloring mixture to the parting and stubborn gray hairs. Then distribute it through the lengths and all over your hair.

Step 6: Gently massage the color mixture in until the hair is completely covered.

Step 7: Let the dye sit for 30 minutes. Discard any remaining mixture.

Step 8: Distribute a small amount of lukewarm water through your hair and gently massage it through. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until the water runs clear.

Step 9: Distribute a nut-sized amount of color-preserving conditioner evenly throughout your hair and massage it in gently. Leave it on for 2 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Use the care once a week for up to 6 applications, alternating with the Color Extender (see below).

After coloring:
Step 10: Revive the color's shine by applying Color Extender. Apply a small amount of Color Extender to clean hair and massage it in. Leave it on for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.

Storage advice
Keep closed, out of reach of children.

Warnings
This product is not intended for use by persons under the age of 16.
Temporary black henna tattoos may lead to an increased risk of an allergic reaction.

Do not color your hair if:
You have a rash on your face or an oversensitive, irritated or damaged scalp;
You have previously had a reaction after hair coloring;
You have had a reaction in the past after a temporary black henna tattoo.

The developer cream contains hydrogen peroxide.
The colour cream contains resorcinol, phenylenediaminines (diaminotoluenes).
Avoid contact of the product with skin and eyes.
Do not use to dye eyelashes or eyebrows.
In case of contact of the product with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
Contact lens wearers: If possible, remove contact lenses before rinsing the eyes.
Wear the enclosed gloves.
Rinse the hair thoroughly after the product has been applied.
Wait at least 15 days after a perm or a treatment with a long-lasting smoothing product before having a colour treatment.
Do not use on hair colored with henna or a progressive dye.
Keep out of reach of children.
