Orthica Folic Acid 800 High-potency folic acid. Intended as a folic acid supplement for women of childbearing age who are trying to conceive. Also contains vitamin B12.
Contains no yeast, sucrose, synthetic preservatives, synthetic colours, fragrances or flavours.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Folic acid supplementation increases maternal folate status. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the developing fetus. The beneficial effect is obtained with a supplemental folic acid intake of 400 micrograms per day, from four weeks before to eight weeks after conception. There are multiple risk factors for the development of neural tube defects. Replacing one of these factors may or may not have a beneficial effect.
Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and has a positive effect on the immune system.
Finally, vitamin B12 also contributes to brain and nerve functions involved in your concentration.
