Usage The recommended dosage for children from the time of supplementary feeding up to six years of age is 2 grams per day (one and a half scoops). Add the powder to lukewarm water or skimmed milk, plain yogurt, or room-temperature lemonade (syrup), stir, and drink preferably on an empty stomach. The recommended daily dose for young children can also be added to one warmed bottle of formula, expressed breast milk, or a small amount of boiled and cooled water (temperature no higher than 37°C). Close the package carefully after use, store in a dry place at room temperature, and use the opened package within 3 months.
Additional usage tips
What time of day?
It's best to take probiotics on an empty stomach, for example, just before bed, but any other time of day is also fine. When the stomach is empty, the probiotic bacteria are present in the stomach for a shorter time, and digestive juices aren't yet produced. These juices are certainly helpful for digestion, but they reduce the survival rate of the bacteria in the product. Wait half an hour after taking the supplement before eating, otherwise these juices will still be activated. If you're unable to take the probiotics on an empty stomach, take them at a different time.
Why solve?
Orthiflor powder products and the powder from capsules should preferably be dissolved and stirred in lukewarm liquid (see above) before taking them. The billions of bacteria in the capsules, loose powder, or sachets are put into a kind of "dormant state" during production, allowing them to be stored for a long time, and they require liquid to revive. If they were to be directly exposed to stomach acid in their "dormant state," a large portion of the bacteria would not survive. The bacteria also do not like cold liquids. A lukewarm liquid is preferable. If you choose convenience and take probiotics in chewable tablets, your saliva will provide the necessary moisture.
