Use
Waterglass is used, among other things, as an adhesive component for paint layers and glues. It can also be used to waterproof porous ceramics etc. with cracked glazes. For this, the part to be treated is poured over or smeared with the liquid waterglass. Under certain circumstances, lightly preheating the part to approx. 50°C is an advantage to allow for faster drying. The layer formed after drying sits in the pores or cracks and seals the part. However, this protective layer is not heat-resistant (hot water) and may need to be renewed after some time. Waterglass is also used to liquefy casting compounds, which means less water needs to be used. 500 ml bottle
