Each Nutrivian Curcuma Longa capsule contains 500 mg of a patented form of curcuma longa extract called BCM-95®. This extract contains a whopping 95% curcuminoids (including curcumin, demethoxy curcumin, and bisdemethoxy curcumin), which are much better absorbed than the curcuminoids in standard curcuma longa extracts. Through a unique production process, the curcuminoids are bound to essential oils, which significantly increase their absorption in the body. These essential oils are also extracted from the root of the curcuma longa plant. Many other products contain artificial additives to enhance absorption. BCM-95® contains only curcuminoids and essential oils from the curcuma longa plant, without any other additives.

The active ingredients in Curcuma Longa are curcuminoids. What makes Nutrivian Curcuma Longa 500 mg unique is that it contains a much higher concentration of curcuminoids than curcuma powder, which is available as a spice. Curcuma powder contains only 2% curcuminoids. BCM-95®, on the other hand, contains a whopping 95% curcuminoids. Adding black pepper extract (piperine) to dietary supplements is one of the most commonly used methods. Piperine blocks liver detoxification, preventing the liver from breaking down curcuminoids.
