Viscum Album Forte Herbal Tincture from Nova Vitae is a food supplement that harnesses the powerful properties of mistletoe, or Viscum Album. This herbal tincture has been carefully formulated by Nova Vitae, a brand known for its dedication to quality and natural ingredients.
Mistletoe, an evergreen plant often growing on deciduous trees, has been valued for centuries in various cultures for its potential supportive properties. Nova Vitae's Viscum Album Forte Herbal Tincture offers a concentrated extract of this plant, using modern production methods to ensure the highest possible quality.
Why is there alcohol in your Viscum Album product?
Alcohol is often used in making herbal tinctures due to its ability to effectively extract active ingredients from herbs. Here are our considerations for why alcohol is used:
1. Efficient extraction of bioactive substances: Alcohol is known for its ability to extract both water-soluble and fat-soluble components from plants. This makes it an efficient solvent for a wide range of bioactive substances in herbs, including flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and essential oils.
2. Preservation: Alcohol has preservative properties, meaning it helps to preserve the herbal tincture and prevent spoilage. The high alcohol content acts as a natural preservative, extending the shelf life of the tincture.
3. Improved absorption: Alcohol is considered a well-absorbable medium for the human body. It can help efficiently transfer the active ingredients in the herbal tincture into the bloodstream, making them easier for the body to absorb.
The dosage of an herbal tincture is typically taken in drops, resulting in a relatively small amount of alcohol per dose.
