The plant blooms in May with white blossoms and forms red berries in September and October.
Both the blossoms with the leaves and the berries have been used as a traditional medicine for centuries.
Nova Vitae is launching a Hawthorn extract standardised to no fewer than two very potent active ingredients: hyperoside and vitexine.
Both substances have a very powerful effect on specific parts of the body.
The antioxidant properties are still being further investigated, specifically on the heart and blood vessels.
