L-Glutamine is the most abundant non-essential amino acid in the human body.
Non-essential means that the body can produce this amino acid itself.
Most production takes place in muscles, lungs, brain and fat tissue.
Under specific circumstances, glutamine production may be insufficient to meet the need. In such cases, L-glutamine is considered semi-essential. This can occur, for example, in people who regularly subject their bodies to intense stress or due to specific lifestyle factors.
Glutamine, glycine, and cysteine together form the building blocks for glutathione.
