Berberine HCl is a substance extracted from Berberis vulgaris (English: barberry). It's actually a very common berry. The substance berberine is a bitter-tasting alkaloid that has a long history of use in both Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine.
Berberine contributes to a healthy functioning gastrointestinal tract by influencing microorganisms and pathogens that can damage the healthy functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. Berberine has a unique molecular structure.
