Usage
Read the instructions for use and in particular the safety instructions carefully before using the device and keep the instructions for future reference. Always hand over
the instructions for use if you give the device to someone else.
Charging the battery
We recommend fully charging the medisana nasal shower NI 200 before first use (maximum duration: approx. 2.5 hours).
The device cannot be used while charging. To charge, connect the supplied cable to charging port 9 and to a 5V /1A power source. The "Low" LED light 6 flashes during charging. When the battery is full, all 3 LED lights 6 will illuminate continuously for approx. 20 minutes.
If the battery is nearly empty, the LED light 6 of the currently active mode will flash - in this case, charge the battery as soon as possible. If the battery is so low that further use of the device is not possible, the "Low" LED light 6 will flash 3 times rapidly before the device automatically switches off. The device can only be used again after the battery has been charged.
Attaching the nozzle
Insert the nasal water jet attachment (for adults) 1 or the nasal water spray attachment (for children and adults) 2 into the middle hole of the device housing until it clicks into place.
Filling the reservoir 7
Open the cap of the reservoir 7 and fill it with water or an isotonic saline solution. You can optionally remove the reservoir 7 from the device by gently pulling it downwards (see diagram below) for faster filling. Note: Make sure the device is switched off when filling the reservoir 7
. Then close the reservoir 7 or reattach it to the device.
Press and hold the on/off button 4 of the switched-off device to turn it on. Briefly press the on/off button
4 of the switched-on device to turn it off. After the device is switched on, it enters the default
operating mode.
Bend over a sink, open your mouth to breathe and slowly place the spray head in front of your nostril (make sure not to insert the tip
of the spray head directly into your nostril). If both nostrils are clear, you can slowly close one nostril with the
tip of the spray head, so that the saline solution or water can flow back out of the other nostril or from the mouth, thereby
cleaning the entire nasal cavity and the deep sinuses.
Briefly press the mode button 5 to switch between high, medium and low settings. If you are using the device for the first time
, we recommend starting with the lowest setting. You can increase this later if desired. The setting is
indicated by the corresponding LED light 6.
Do not directly block the nostrils with the spray head if your nose is blocked on one or both sides. Slowly place the tip
of the spray head in front of a nostril and after a while try to insert the tip further into the nostril. If fluid flows out of the
other nostril or into the mouth, it means the nasal cavity has become clearer.
At that point, you can thoroughly rinse your entire nose. If you feel increased pressure in the nasal cavity or middle ear
and the fluid cannot flow out of the other nostril or through the mouth, remove the spray head from your nose and try
the above steps again later.
Note: If the water or saline solution does not come out of the other nostril or mouth even after repeated attempts
outside, stop using the device so that excessive pressure in the nasal cavity cannot cause damage
cause.
Tilt your head to the right if you have inserted the spray head into your left nostril, so that the fluid can flow a little out of the right
nostril, and vice versa. Do not talk when using the device, keep your mouth open throughout the treatment
to breathe and do not swallow saliva.
Use in children
We strongly advise against using the device in children younger than 8 years old. Children aged 8 years or older
must be supervised by an adult when using the device. Children are still growing and their nasal cavities
are not yet fully developed. They have shorter and smaller nasal cavities than adults. Therefore, the device must be used differently
for adults than for children. Adults should guide their children in the correct and safe
use of the device and the usage time should be shorter than for adults. We recommend for children always only the
lowest setting ("low") 6 to use.
After use
Switch off the device, open the reservoir 7 with the water inlet opening
downwards and pour out the remaining liquid, as shown in the
image. Switch on the device and drain the remaining liquid
until the spray head no longer sprays liquid. Then switch off the device.
Removing the spray head
To remove or replace the spray head, you can press the spray head lock 3 and simultaneously pull out the spray head attachment.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning the device:
• Clean the device only with clean water or a neutral detergent. Do not use corrosive or abrasive
cleaning agents.
• Never place the device in water or other liquids. If necessary, clean the outside of the device with a soft cloth
soaked in a mild and non-corrosive cleaning agent.
Cleaning the reservoir 7:
• Hold the device with your left hand and the reservoir 7 with your right hand. Pull the reservoir 7 downwards to
separate it from the device.
• Rinse the inside of the reservoir 7 with clean water at room temperature. Do not clean the reservoir 7 with a
cleaning agent.
• After cleaning, replace the reservoir 7 in its original position.
Removing limescale from hard water:
Depending on the mineral content of the water used, limescale may build up on the device. If you do not remove the limescale
from hard water, the capacity of the device will be affected. Therefore, we recommend repeating the following
cleaning procedure every 1-3 months to maintain the capacity of the device:
point the spray head at a sink, switch on the device and let it run until the water/saline solution is completely used up. Fill reservoir 7 with clean, hot water (>85°C) and repeat the above procedure.

Safety instructions
• When using an electrical appliance (especially in the presence of children), basic
safety measures must always be observed, including the following instructions.
• Use the device only for its intended purpose, as described in the instructions for use. If it is used for other
purposes, the warranty will be void.
• Any use other than described above is considered non-compliant and must be considered
dangerous. If the device is not used in accordance with the regulations, liability for safe
operation of the device transfers to the user.
• Mouth/nose rinse devices can be used by children from 8 years of age and by persons with limited physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or with a lack of experience and knowledge provided they are supervised.
• Use of the device in children younger than 8 years is not recommended. Children from 8 years of age may use the device
provided they are supervised by an adult.
• It is recommended that an adult first familiarises themselves with the standard use of the nasal shower before he/she
supervises children in its use.
• We recommend that children always use only the lowest setting ("low") 6.
Caution! Reduce the risk of electric shock:
1. Do not use in the bath.
2. Ensure that the device can never fall or be pulled into a bath, a shower cubicle or a washbasin.
3. Do not place or drop into water or other liquids.
4. Do not grasp a device that has fallen into water. In that case, immediately unplug it from the socket.
5. Do not handle the charger with wet hands during charging.
Warning!
Reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire or injury:
1. Never leave the device unattended.
2. If this product is used by, near or in the vicinity of children or people with disabilities, strict supervision is
necessary.
3. Use the device only for the purpose described in this manual. Do not use accessories not recommended by the
manufacturer.
4. Do not use the device if it is damaged or has fallen, if it is not functioning properly or if it has fallen into water. In that case, bring the device to a service centre for inspection and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from hot surfaces.
6. Never block the air openings of the device and never place it on a soft surface, such as a bed or a
sofa, where the air openings could be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair and the like.
7. Never use the device while sleeping or when drowsy.
8. Do not drop objects into the openings and do not insert objects into them.
9. Disconnect the charging cord before filling the device. Fill the device (the reservoir 7) only with water or a
medical saline solution, unless otherwise indicated by the manufacturer. Do not fill beyond the maximum!
10. This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or with a lack of experience and insufficient knowledge, unless they are supervised by someone who
is responsible for their safety or who helps them with the correct use of this device.
11. Keep children under supervision and do not let them play with the device.
12.Do not use the device outdoors or in places where products containing aerosol (sprays) are used or where oxygen is administered.
13. This device may only be used with low current in accordance with the marking on the device.
14.Do not connect this device to a voltage system other than the system indicated on the device or charger.
15. This device contains a battery that cannot be replaced.
16. The device is only suitable for home use. DO NOT use the product outdoors.
17. People with respiratory conditions or who have undergone sinus surgery should not use the device unless expressly advised by their doctor.
Warning!
Observe the following guidelines to reduce the risk of electric shock and other hazards:
• Check that the charger and cord are undamaged before using or continuing to use the device.
Do not attempt to use the device if either is damaged. In that case, contact customer service for replacement.
• Do not throw the device into fire or any other hot environment.
• Do not immerse the device in water, as this may cause damage.
• Never connect or disconnect the charger plug with wet hands.
• Do not modify, damage or break the device. Do not pull the cord or bend or twist it forcefully. Do not place heavy objects on the cord and do not pinch the cord between other objects.
• Do not disassemble the device, except for removing the battery when the device is disposed of (see chapter on this).
• Do not place the device, charger or cord on heated surfaces.
• Do not place the device in a hot or humid place or in direct sunlight.
• Before cleaning or maintaining the device, check that it is switched off and not charging.
Warning:
Always be aware of the pressure in the nasal cavity and middle ear. In case of a blocked nose, the water flow
of the nasal shower can cause excessive pressure in the nasal cavity and middle ear, leading to nausea. Stop immediately if you feel nauseous or experience pain.
Do not blow your nose for the first 5 minutes after using the device. Use paper tissues to gently press the water out of the nasal cavity; otherwise you could suffer from increased pressure in the middle ear.
Do not use the device continuously for longer than 2 minutes at a time. The device automatically switches off if it has been used continuously for approx. 2 minutes.
