Vegan Algae Oil is an Omega 3 supplement made from sustainably cultivated algae. The fermentation process of the algae takes place in a closed, pure environment. This ensures the algae oil is free from contamination.
What are EPA & DHA?
EPA and DHA are Omega 3 fatty acids that contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure (with an intake of 3 grams of EPA and DHA per day, not exceeding 5 g combined). EPA and DHA also have a beneficial effect on the heart (with 250 mg of EPA & DHA per day). Additionally, DHA is good for the brain and eyesight (with 250 mg per day).
Highly absorbable form
These algae oil capsules contain 150 mg of EPA & 100 mg of DHA per capsule in their natural triglyceride form. This means that the fatty acid chains have remained intact, unlike some algae oils that are converted to ethyl esters through a chemical process. This process, which increases the concentration of omega-3 fatty acids, removes the fatty acids from their original triglyceride form and binds them to ethanol, creating ethyl esters.
Ethyl esters can be less efficiently absorbed and oxidize faster than the natural triglyceride form.
High EPA content
EPA and DHA are two long fatty acids found in food only in fish oil and algae oil. Most algae mainly produce DHA and only a little EPA. To achieve a higher EPA content in algae oil, specific algae strains that naturally produce more EPA are used. This is done without the use of concentration processes or chemical conversions, so the oil naturally retains its stable triglyceride form. The entire process, from cultivation to oil, is solvent-free, non-GMO, allergen-free, and 100% plant-based.
Thanks to its higher EPA content, this Algae Oil is closer in composition to fish oil than our other algae oil variants. This makes it the ideal choice for anyone who wants to experience the benefits of omega-3 but prefers a plant-based option.

Algae Oil TOTOX value
The TOTOX value (total oxidation value) indicates the degree of fatty acid oxidation. This value has nothing to do with spoilage but with the age of the oil. As the oil gets older, the TOTOX value increases. The European guideline sets a maximum TOTOX value of 26. This algae oil has a TOTOX value of <6.
How people react to the TOTOX value can vary: some people experience no discomfort with a high TOTOX value, while others experience burping even with a low TOTOX value.
Some brands use chemical agents to reduce and maintain low TOTOX values in liquid algae or fish oils. Our algae oil does not contain these chemical agents.
