Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a mushroom that has been used in Asia for over 2,000 years for its beneficial effects on health. Reishi is one of the best-known and most widely used medicinal mushrooms. Reishi supports healthy blood circulation.*

Ganoderma Lucidum is the Latin name and means "shining skin." In China, this mushroom is also called "the Herb of Spiritual Power."

Reishi grows as a parasite on deciduous trees, but can also grow on dead tree trunks. Reishi is red in color, and its sheen makes it look like it's been coated with a layer of varnish.

What are the health benefits of Reishi?
Reishi has been used in Eastern medicine for over 2,000 years. Traditionally, it is primarily used to support the immune system.* Reishi contains triterpenes and polysaccharides.

Difference between powder and extract
The difference between Reishi powder and extract lies in the way the mushroom is processed. Reishi powder is made from the fruiting body (fruit) of the Reishi mushroom. An extract is further processed, which concentrates the active ingredient. For Reishi, hot water is used for this process. Because of this processing, 1 kilogram of Reishi extract is roughly equivalent to 17 kilograms of regular Reishi powder.

Usage
