This means the fatty acid chains remain intact, unlike some algae oils, which are chemically converted into ethyl esters. This process, which increases the omega-3 fatty acid concentration, removes the fatty acids from their original triglyceride form and binds them to ethanol, forming ethyl esters. Unfortunately, the body absorbs this form less efficiently and oxidizes more quickly than the natural form.
