This liquid algae oil contains 1200 mg of omega-3 fatty acids per 5 ml, of which 900 mg are DHA and 300 mg are EPA, both in their natural triglyceride form. This means the fatty acid chains remain intact, unlike some algae oils, which are chemically converted into ethyl esters. This process, which increases the omega-3 fatty acid concentration, removes the fatty acids from their original triglyceride form and binds them to ethanol, forming ethyl esters. Unfortunately, the body absorbs this form less efficiently and oxidizes more quickly than the natural form.
