Royal jelly is a milky white substance produced by young worker bees. It is the exclusive food of the queen bee. All bee larvae can develop into a queen, but only those larvae fed Royal Jelly actually develop into queens. This unique substance allows the queen bee to live for 4 to 5 years and grow to twice the size of a worker bee, while a typical worker bee lives an average of only 8 weeks. Furthermore, the queen bee lays approximately 2 million eggs during her lifetime and single-handedly maintains the entire bee population.
