Usage
Shoyu and Tamari are flavour enhancers, the healthy and liquid counterparts of the bouillon cube. They fit equally well into Western and Eastern cuisine. Use them not only to salt dishes, but also to enhance the natural flavour of the ingredients, during cooking and at the table. The taste of Shoyu is characterised by a distinct alcoholic note, which is the result of the fermentation of the wheat. This is why the product cannot withstand prolonged heating, and why it should therefore only be added at the end of the cooking process, so that the flavour is not lost. Shoyu combines perfectly with pickles, stir-fries, rice, noodles, sushi, sashimi or steamed vegetables, with mirin (rice wine), wasabi, ginger or grated daikon.
